The treatment

A deep cleanse, the Moroccan way

The Moroccan bath, or hammam, is a centuries-old cleansing ritual. You relax in warm steam to soften the skin, then your therapist applies traditional black soap and works over the body with a kessa exfoliating glove, sloughing away dead skin and leaving you visibly brighter.

It is one of the most refreshing treatments we offer — equally loved by men and women, and a perfect first step before a massage. Skin feels remarkably smooth and clean, circulation is boosted, and the whole body feels lighter.

At Deluxe Spa it is one of the few authentic Moroccan baths in Deira and Dubai Creek performed as a full hammam ritual rather than a quick scrub, in a private steam room with a same-gender therapist and the traditional black soap and kessa glove.

How much is a Moroccan bath in Dubai?+

At Deluxe Spa our Moroccan bath is AED 250 for a full 60-minute hammam ritual, which includes the warm steam, the traditional black-soap cleanse, a thorough kessa-glove exfoliation and a final rinse — the complete experience with no hidden extras. That places it among the most fair-priced authentic hammams in Deira and Dubai Creek, well below the rates charged by five-star hotel spas for the same ritual. If you would like to make more of the visit, the Moroccan bath is the perfect first step before a massage, and we can combine the two into a single longer session; message us on WhatsApp at +971 56 174 6889 and we will quote the combined price and reserve the time. We are open daily from 11am to 2am, and evening and weekend slots fill first, so a little notice helps us give you the time you want.

Is the Moroccan bath for men and women?+

Yes, the Moroccan bath is enjoyed equally by men and women, and it is one of our most popular treatments with both. Every guest is matched with a same-gender therapist in a private room, so you can relax completely throughout the steam, cleanse and exfoliation. The ritual itself is the same warm, refreshing experience for everyone: steam to soften the skin, traditional black soap, and a thorough kessa-glove exfoliation that leaves the skin visibly brighter and remarkably smooth. It suits all skin types and is a favourite for anyone who wants to feel deeply clean and renewed, whether as a standalone treat or as preparation before a massage. When you message us to book, simply let us know your preference and we will arrange the right therapist and room for your comfort. If it is your first hammam, tell us and your therapist will explain each step as you go, so you always know what to expect.

What should I bring or wear?+

You do not need to bring anything, as we provide everything required for the ritual, including towels, the traditional black soap and the kessa exfoliating glove. Most guests keep on disposable underwear, which we supply, and you remain appropriately covered throughout the treatment. Your therapist steps out of the room while you settle onto the table, so you have privacy to get comfortable, and you are looked after by a same-gender therapist in a private room the whole time. It is worth remembering that the exfoliation is thorough, so it is best to arrive with skin that has not been freshly shaved or waxed that same day, as newly shaved skin can be more sensitive to the glove. Otherwise there is nothing to prepare. Come as you are, and if you plan to add a massage afterwards, simply mention it when you book so we can set aside enough time. We will take care of the rest.

Can I add a massage?+

Yes, and we genuinely recommend it, because a Moroccan bath is one of the best possible preparations for a massage. The steam and black-soap cleanse soften and warm the skin, and the kessa-glove exfoliation removes every trace of dead skin, so afterwards the body is relaxed, the pores are clear and any oils used in a massage absorb beautifully. The two treatments together feel like a complete ritual: first cleansing and renewing, then soothing and releasing tension. You can pair the hammam with any massage from our menu, from a gentle Swedish relaxation to a firmer deep tissue or a warm hot stone session. Simply tell us when you message to book that you would like to add a massage, and we will reserve enough time and the right therapist so the two flow smoothly one after the other. Many guests make this their signature visit, and it is an especially lovely way to mark a special occasion.

How often should I have a Moroccan bath?+

For most people, a Moroccan bath every two to four weeks keeps the skin smooth, bright and renewed, since that rhythm matches the skin's natural cycle of shedding and regenerating. If your skin tends to be drier or you simply love the polished feeling, once a month is a comfortable routine; if you exercise a lot, live in a dusty climate or want to keep pores especially clear, closer to every two weeks works well. It is gentle enough to enjoy regularly, and each session leaves the skin visibly cleaner and softer while boosting circulation. Beyond a standalone routine, it also makes a perfect first step before any massage, leaving the skin clean and the body relaxed, so many guests book it that way. Listen to your skin, and if it ever feels sensitive, simply space your visits a little further apart. When you book, mention how often you come and your therapist can advise a rhythm that suits your skin.

What is your cancellation policy?+

You can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to twenty-four hours before your appointment, and within that final twenty-four hours fifty percent of the treatment is charged, as your therapist and room have been set aside for you. The easiest way to change a Moroccan bath booking is a quick message on WhatsApp at +971 56 174 6889; we are open daily from 11am to 2am and reply throughout those hours, so we can confirm a new time straight away. If you have booked the hammam together with a massage afterwards, a little extra notice is appreciated, since we will have reserved a longer slot for the combined ritual. Evening and weekend times are the first to fill, so early notice both helps us and frees the slot for another guest. If you are simply running late, message us rather than cancelling; when a therapist is free we can often still fit you in, though your session may run a little shorter.
